Lines, lines and more lines.. We started by reading the book "Art" by Patrick McDonnell and pointing out the different types of lines throughout the book. They then drew a continuous line across their paper from one end to the other with pencil, traced it with glue and then traced it with yarn. This yarn created a focal point and the main line they were working off of. They then created a ripple effect by tracing around the line on both sides until it reached the end of the paper with oil pastel and crayon. They then had to fill in between each space with a different type of lines and lots of color. The last step was to watercolor all of the white space left carefully, choosing their own color scheme.
