Mondrian Lines and Primary Colors
Kindergarteners are continuing to learn about line and how lines make shapes. They learned about the amazing artist Piet Mondrian and his simple artwork using black lines and the primary colors. They then used cardboard and dipped the edges of the cardboard into black paint and made lines and shapes, mainly squares and rectangles. They then painted in chosen shapes with the primary colors, then had to paint carefully and slowly in the lines and arrange them in a way that left negative space. Throughout the project they learned about the primary colors and why they are so important and how to make shapes using lines.
