Kindergarten learned about Henri Matisse and his art of “drawing with scissors”. They also learned a little history of the artist, and about the other types of art he created. We continued to talk about geometric and organic shapes. They then had to cut out their own organic and geometric shapes with the inspiration on Matisse. They then arranged their shapes in a thoughtful manner, they needed to really think of where they should place each shape, not just glue it on wherever. They overlapped pieces; choose their colors and how they wanted their unique design to look. Matisse would be very proud!
