line paper sculptures
Third Graders learned about the element of line in a different way. We talked about how we need lines in everything we do in art and lines are everywhere. We then talked about how we can make lots of different types of lines with just paper by twisting, folding, cutting, etc. We looked at a few different types of paper sculptures and talked about what types of lines we see, and what we see in abstract art, what they make of it. Then then cut lots of different types of line out of paper and created either an abstract sculpture of a realistic idea. They could also add lines with sharpie. The last step was to come up with a creative name for their beautiful sculpture.
