kusama inspired pumpkins
Second and third graders learned about a new artist named Yayoi Kusama and her art. They started by designing a background using line, shape and pattern with oil pastel, white pencil and sharpie. Then they drew two contour line pumpkins from observation. They then learned about complimentary and analogous colors on the color wheel. They had to choose an analogous color scheme and complimentary color scheme for each pumpkin and their polka dots. They then painted their pumpkins solid colors and then added the polka dots. The last step was to cut out their pumpkins and glue them to their background.
