joan miro shape prints
Second and third grade learned about the wonderful artist Joan Miro and had discussion and critique about his work and style. They then created their own Joan Miro inspired art. They first cut out geometric shapes out of chosen color construction paper and made a “shape island” in the middle of a white piece of paper. They then came up with a Miro shape design for their Styrofoam plates. Once they had their design finished they transferred their design onto a piece of Styrofoam. They then performed the process of printmaking to print overlapping their shape island in black ink.
