Second and third graders learned about this amazing artist Hundertwasser, and his fascinating way of using line and shapes to create beautiful, expressive art. We had a discussion about his art, and it brought us to a very imaginative place! We discussed how he used lines in a thoughtful and expressive way and how he used shapes to capture your imagination. They then had to create their own Hundertwasser inspired artwork. They used some new materials such as paint sticks and paint scrapers to create layered lined backgrounds. They then had to arrange their background in a creative way. They had to choose three of Hundertwassers elements to incorporate in their piece, such as onion domes and floating eyeballs using construction paper scraps and markers. Each piece is unique and different and incredibly imaginative!
