Dr. seuss line sculptures
Kindergarten started this project by learning the basics about the element of line, and that line is needed for everything and lines are everywhere. During this project we read a few books and while reading the book I had students come up and point out different lines that could pick out. The books we read were, "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss, "Art" by Patrick McDonnell and "Lines that Wiggle" by Candace Whitman. They first choose eight pre cut construction paper strips and folded the tops and glued them to the black paper. They then folded, twisted, bent, curved the paper to make different types of lines and ultimately make a Dr. Seuss "like" sculpture.
